Jr. PROfiles Tori Johnson How did you get started playing golf? Our family has a bunch of land that is connected and my older cousins decided to make a nine hole par 3 course and we used to play that all the time. Who taught you how to play golf? My dad showed me the basics when I first started and eventually my golf instructor at Longaberger Golf Course taught me how to play golf. Who has been the most influential person in your life? I would say that my dad is definitely the most influential person in my life. If you could play any golf course in the world, what would it be and why? If I could play any golf course in the world it would be Pebble Beach because I saw the pros on TV play there and it looks like a beautiful course. What are your favorite clubs in your bag? My favorite clubs in my bag would have to be my driver and my 3 wood. I really like my putter too but it doesn’t work. When you are not playing golf, what are you doing? When I am not playing golf I am focusing on school work and spending time with my family. As a junior golfer, who do you look up to for inspiration? As a junior golfer the person I look up to for inspiration would be Paula Creamer, a current player on the LPGA. Do you have any superstitions on the golf course? So far I have no superstitions on the golf course. I’m so nervous all of the time that I would probably forget that I had one anyway. What has been your favorite memory so far on the golf course? My favorite moments on the golf course are when I look over and I see my parents standing on the cart path cheering me on. What do you hope to accomplish as a golfer? As a golfer I hope to accomplish a better understanding of how to beat the game from a mental aspect, and eventually earn a golf scholarship to a school in a state with nice weather.
